Our sailing school is located within the Club Nautico Muña, founded in 1943. Located 50 kms north of Bogota, Colombia’s capital, on the waters of the Represa de Tominé (Tominé lake), at 2,640 meters above sea level.
We have sailing classes for children from 7 – 13 years in the Optimist Class with 6 boats. For youngsters and adults, we have 5 Sunfish and 3 Laser boats, as well as 2 J12 boats (a 12 feet long boat) and 2 Snipe boats. Instructors are registered at the Federación Colombiana de Vela and have more than several years experience as instructors, and many more as sailors.
Francisco Castillo, director of the Sailing School, has been sailing since 1972 and as instructor for already 5 years. Is a former president of the National Federation (Federación Colombiana de Vela) 2002 – 2006 and past Comodore of the Club Náutico Muña 1999 – 2001. |
